The Environmental Affairs Division is composed of four teams:
- Administration is responsible for overall function and office management of
the Division including customer service, budgeting and contracting oversight, Goals,
Actions, Results and Measures (GARMS) and accountability, personnel issues, policy
issues and support services.
- Environmental Management and Compliance (EMC) concentrates on pollution
prevention, hazardous materials management, water quality issues, and hazardous
waste site cleanup.
- Natural Resources and Environmental Planning (NREP) ensures that City Light
operates in an environmentally sound manner, protecting fisheries, wildlife,
Native American concerns, aesthetics, historic and archaeological resources,
and recreational opportunities. NREP leads City Light's efforts in hydrolicensing
and implementing license mitigation programs.
- Science Policy is a new team added in 2000 to work on complex policy issues
such as the Endangered Species Act, Global Climate Change and other emerging policy
issues. This group leads the City's ESA science team and coordinates ESA-related
watershed activities, including Capital Improvement Projects. The team will also
track, analyze, and assist in developing SCL's position on local, regional and
national debates involving science and the environment.
