In an effort to increase commercial and industrial conservation activity, Seattle City Light’s Energy Smart Services program recently offered a bonus called “10 + 10”. Projects contracted with City Light before December 15th, 2004 were eligible for a 10 percent bonus on top of traditional financial incentives. If the projects were completed within a short time frame they were eligible for another 10% bonus.
The bonus was a great success, with over 400 contracts signed, compared to 235 the year before. While the bonus is over now, this does not mean financial incentives are gone – Seattle City Light still offers significant incentives for lighting upgrades, mechanical system improvements, new construction projects, industrial process improvements, and more.
