Spams & Scams
Spam
Spam is any unsolicited email you might receive. It is one of the ugly "unintended consequences" of the Internet
and the powerful personal computing tools that are now common in the workplace and in our personal lives. Spam
has become one of the most annoying and disruptive phenomenon of email services. At last report it amounts to
nearly 75% of all Internet traffic!
The State of Washington does have an anti-spamming law and there are other states and federal legislative
initiatives to outlaw Spam. While all these legal efforts are welcomed, they will not by themselves stop the
spamming. It is a complicated worldwide problem.
