Healthy families also build safe and vibrant communities and strengthen neighborhood schools, which in turn benefits the entire city.

The City of Seattle builds community and organizational partnerships to provide a strong support system for children and families in five primary areas:

• Child Care
• After-School Services
• Nutrition

The Seattle Human Services Department focuses on providing these important services to children, low-income families and special populations such as deaf and deaf/blind parents, teen mothers and immigrants and refugees.
