Downtown Board Members

Marta Falkowska
Position: Community Representative
Term: Second
Term expires: April 4, 2010
 

Marta Falkowska works as an architect for LMN Architects. She has worked for architecture firms in New York City, including Pei Cobb Freed and Partners. She won a National Endowment for the Arts Grant Award for the PRAXIS Journal Writing and Building publication, where she serves as editor. She has a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a BA in architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

 

Wilmot Gilland
Position: Design Professional Representative
Term: Second
Term expires: April 4, 2010
 

Wilmot Gilland is the principal of Gilland Design. He also served as the dean of the School of Architecture and Allied Arts at the University of Oregon, where he taught architecture for 30 years, and worked for over a decade at private firms in San Francisco. He is a registered architect in California and Oregon and was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He has a BA and an MFA in architecture from Princeton University.

 

James Falconer
Position: Development Representative
Term: Second
Term expires: April 4, 2009
 

James Falconer is a co-owner of the Vance Corporation, which owns and manages over 500,000 sq. ft. of office and retail real estate in downtown Seattle. He is co-chair of Build the Streetcar. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and practiced real estate and land use law for 23 years. He has a B.A. from Brown University and a J.D. from Stanford University.

 

Kelly Mann
Position: Local Residential Representative
Term: Second
Term expires: April 4, 2009
 

Kelly Mann is the Executive Director of the Urban Land Institute Seattle District Council. Before joining ULI, Kelly practiced land use law in Seattle and Portland on projects ranging from major downtown developments to destination resorts. She holds degrees from Johns Hopkins University (B.A. with honors in Anthropology); Cornell Law School (J.D.); University of Washington (Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Development).

 

Dana Behar
Position: Local Business Representative
Term: Second
Term expires: April 4, 2010
 

Dana Behar is president of HAL Real Estate Investments, and has developed several multifamily and commercial projects in Puget Sound. He also has worked in marketing and brand management for consumer and software companies. He has served on the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board, the Historic Seattle Board, the Stewardship Council for Capitol Hill, and the Downtown Seattle Committee of the Urban Land Institute. He has a BA in business administration from the University of Washington and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Matt Allert

Position: Get Engaged Representative
Term: One Year
Term expires: September 1, 2008
 

Matt Allert, LEED AP, is an architectural designer for Callison Architecture in Seattle.  He has 3 years of experience designing urban mixed use and retail projects in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.   Matt is an associate member of the AIA, and is currently working towards his architectural license.  He received a B.A. in Architecture from Oklahoma State University in 2004.
